Agreement
These terms govern your use of https://theheadlineupdate.com (the “site”), operated by The Headline Update Media, B-42, Second Floor, Sector 63, Noida, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh 201301, India. By using the site or booking advertising, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What we provide
The Headline Update publishes short summaries of news reports from other publishers with links to the originals, original explainers written by our desk, and paid advertising placements. Headlines, summaries and photographs from other publishers belong to them; we display them for news reporting with attribution, and remove them on request from the rights holder.
Using the site
You may read, share and link to our pages. You must not copy or republish our content in bulk, scrape the site with automated tools without written permission, attempt to overload or gain unauthorised access to the site, or use it for anything unlawful.
Contributions and reviews
When you send us a tip, report, explainer, photograph or review, you confirm that it is your own work, that it is true to the best of your knowledge, and that you have the right to share it. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to edit, publish and display it on our site and channels, with credit (or anonymously if you ask). We may decline or remove any contribution. You remain responsible for what you send.
Advertising bookings
- Booking: you book placements through our Advertise page at the price shown at checkout. A booking is confirmed when payment is received and your creative passes our review.
- Content: ads must be lawful and truthful and follow the ASCI Code for Self-Regulation of Advertising Content. We do not accept betting or gambling, adult content, tobacco or surrogate alcohol advertising, unregistered investment schemes, miracle-cure claims, or ads that imitate news. Political ads during elections need pre-certification from the Election Commission’s media committee.
- Review and removal: we may refuse an ad that breaks these rules. If an ad is removed after going live because it breaks them, no refund is due for the remaining days.
- Delivery: ads run on the booked pages for the booked days. In a shared spot, your ad rotates with up to two other brands.
- Responsibility: you are responsible for your ad’s content, claims, trademarks and the page it links to.
Prices and payment
All prices are in Indian rupees (INR). We are not registered under GST at present, so no GST is charged and the price shown is the full amount payable. Payments are processed by an RBI-authorised payment aggregator; we do not store card details. An invoice is emailed within 24 hours of payment.
Cancellations, refunds and delivery
Our Cancellation & Refund Policy and Shipping & Delivery Policy form part of these terms.
Intellectual property
The The Headline Update name, logo, design and our original explainers belong to The Headline Update Media. Material from other publishers belongs to its owners. If you believe content on our site infringes your rights, write to contact@theheadlineupdate.com and we will act promptly.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to other websites, including the publishers whose reports we summarise. We are not responsible for their content, availability or policies.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site is provided “as is”. We work to keep summaries accurate, but the original publisher remains responsible for its report and we do not guarantee that every item is complete or current. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected with a paid booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify The Headline Update Media against claims arising from content you submit or ads you book that break these terms or the law.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. We will first try to resolve any dispute through our Grievance Officer (Nandini Rao, grievance@theheadlineupdate.com, +91 98765 43210). Failing that, the courts at Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to a booking is the one in force on the date of payment.
