Sophie Cunningham has fired back at The Athletic’s Candace Buckner after the writer urged the Indiana Fever to move on from her this offseason, calling her a distraction. On her podcast, Cunningham dismissed her critics and defended her contributions beyond the stat sheet. She averaged 7.9 points per game this season and will become an unrestricted free agent.

The Fever have yet to reveal whether they plan to re-sign the outspoken guard.
