Malaysia's Education Ministry has urged public schools in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya to close beginning Oct 9 due to worsening haze, with Air Pollutant Index (API) readings consistently exceeding 150.
