SOS takes Kashmiri hip-hop beyond the Valley

Srinagar, Oct 25: Emerging from the streets of Srinagar, hip-hop duo Straight Outta Srinagar (SOS), comprising Arslan and Tufail Nazir, is carving out a distinctive identity in India’s independent music scene, using rap to express the creative energy of Kashmir. Since emerging in 2020, SOS has steadily built its presence through music releases, collaborations and live performances, bringing a sound shaped by the valley’s landscape and cultural identity to audiences beyond the region. For the duo, hip-hop is more than a musical genre.
