‘Pandal will collapse, please leave’: Announcement on microphone might have triggered stampede, investigations on
Some eyewitnesses said that heavy rains led people outside to rush into the pandal, to seek shelter. Those who were inside refused to leave. This led to considerable pushing amongst the crowd.
The crowd reportedly entered the pandal from both the entry and exit gates and within seconds, people slipped and fell on each other, leading to the stampede.
