NMC scraps medical education standards regulations with immediate effect: What institutions need to know

Image: The Times Of India. Rights remain with the publisher.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has withdrawn the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023, with immediate effect, through a notification dated October 14. However, medical institutions must continue submitting Annual Disclosure Reports (ADRs) under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. Matters arising thereafter will be governed by the Act and applicable statutory and regulatory provisions.
