Mumbai: BMC Assessment Finds 173 Of 837 Pay-And-Use Toilets Graded D, Only 8 Secure Top Grade A

A BMC assessment found that 173 of Mumbai’s 837 inspected Pay-and-Use toilets received Grade D, while only eight secured Grade A. The civic body plans upgrades, stricter maintenance and follow-up inspections. A proposed 2026 policy may also increase charges for urinals and bathing facilities.
