Mumbai: 800 Villagers, Fishermen Protest Against BMC’s Manori Desalination Plant Project
Around 800 villagers, fishermen and environmental activists protested at the Mumbai Suburban Collector’s office against the BMC’s proposed Manori desalination plant. They alleged inadequate public consultation and warned of risks to fishing livelihoods and marine ecology. Organisers also claimed police stopped 15 buses carrying protesters and detained drivers.
