Commissioner SMC reviews waste management at Achan landfill site
Srinagar, Oct 21: Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, today inspected the Achan landfill site and took stock of ongoing solid waste management operations, including the bio-remediation of legacy waste, functioning of the Leachate Treatment Plant, operations at the Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Processing Plant, and measures for fumigation and odour control management. During the visit, the Commissioner reviewed the existing arrangements for waste handling, transportation, segregation and processing.
