Canada asylum rules to change from November: What unfinished IRCC Portal claims must do

Canada is set to implement changes to the asylum claim submission process starting November 3, 2026, to modernise the system. Applicants who have incomplete claims must log into the IRCC Portal to review and complete their applications. Those who do not submit by the deadline will face new questions in the revised system.

Information from unfinished claims will remain saved if linked to the IRCC Portal before November 2.
