5G SA adoption lags, Bharti Airtel deploying RedCap, says GSA: Report

Despite the slow pace, 5G SA is crucial for enabling advanced features such as network slicing and 5G reduced capability (RedCap). The GSA data shows 17 operators had launched RedCap services by September 2026, with four of these launches occurring in 2026. Bharti Airtel in India and Telkomsel in Indonesia are actively deploying 5G RedCap services.
