A 17-year-old girl in Thane district was compelled into child marriage against her will, resulting in pregnancy. Following the forced marriage, she delivered a baby girl at a local hospital on October 10. A complaint was filed by a doctor, prompting police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the marriage.

The husband and others involved in facilitating the marriage face legal action for violations of child marriage laws.
